1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using CourtLab ("the Service"), including our mobile application and website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.
CourtLab is operated as an Australian sole trader business under ABN 35 155 144 045 ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and CourtLab.
These CourtLab Terms apply to the Service. If you download or subscribe through the Apple App Store, Apple's Standard EULA may also apply to your app-store license and billing relationship.
2. Description of Service
CourtLab provides a basketball performance tracking platform that allows users to:
3. User Accounts
3.1 Account Creation
To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.
3.2 Account Security
You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or use of your account.
3.3 Account Types
CourtLab offers different account types including individual players, parents/guardians, coaches, trainers, scouts, recruiters, and club administrators. Each account type has specific permissions and responsibilities based on the product workflow, organization settings, and applicable law.
4. Minors and Parent/Guardian Consent
Important Notice for Parents and Guardians
CourtLab is designed for basketball players of different ages, including junior athletes. Minors may use CourtLab only with appropriate parent, guardian, school, club, or coach authorization as required by law and the relevant account workflow.
4.1 Parental Consent Required
If you are a minor, you may only use CourtLab with the consent and supervision required in your jurisdiction. A parent, guardian, school, club, or authorized coach may need to create, approve, or manage the account on your behalf.
4.2 Parent/Guardian Responsibilities
Parents/guardians who create accounts for minors are responsible for the minor's use of the Service. They can review, edit, or delete their child's data at any time through the parent dashboard or by contacting support@courtlab.app.
4.3 Data Collection for Minors
For users under 13, we collect only the minimum information necessary to provide the Service: name, date of birth (for age-appropriate groupings), and basketball performance data. We do not collect personal contact information from children under 13 without verified parental consent.
4.4 Parental Rights
Parents have the right to: (a) review their child's personal information, (b) request deletion of their child's data, (c) refuse further collection of their child's information, and (d) agree to collection without agreeing to disclosure to third parties. Contact us at support@courtlab.app to exercise these rights.
4.5 Youth Film and Sharing
If you upload or share film involving minors, you represent that you have the necessary consent, authority, and rights to do so. We may remove or restrict access to youth content when requested by a parent, guardian, club, school, rights holder, or affected person, or where we believe removal is appropriate for safety, privacy, legal, or platform-integrity reasons.
5. Subscriptions and Payments
5.1 Free and Paid Features
CourtLab offers both free and paid subscription tiers. Free accounts have access to basic features while Pro subscriptions unlock advanced analytics, unlimited history, and premium features.
5.2 Billing
Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. Payments are processed through Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Stripe depending on your platform. All fees are non-refundable except as required by law.
5.3 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your app store account settings or by contacting support. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
5.4 Club and Enterprise Plans
Clubs and organizations may purchase enterprise licenses with custom terms. Enterprise agreements are governed by separate contracts that supersede these Terms where applicable.
5.5 App Store Terms
App-store purchases, renewals, refunds, cancellations, and license terms may also be governed by Apple, Google, or the relevant payment provider. For iOS users, Apple's Standard EULA applies where required by the App Store.
5.6 Club Fundraising
An authorized club administrator may create and publish a fundraising campaign for a genuine club or team purpose. The organizer is responsible for the accuracy of the campaign, its target and use of funds, and for having the authority and permissions needed to involve the club, team, event, roster, players, and families. Minors may not create or administer campaigns.
5.7 Contributions, Fees, and Tax Treatment
Fundraising contributions are processed by Stripe for the connected club account. CourtLab does not store full card numbers. Stripe processing fees and a CourtLab platform fee may be deducted before payout. The amount entered at checkout is the contributor's total contribution unless Stripe clearly displays otherwise. CourtLab does not represent that a contribution is a tax-deductible donation; contributors and organizers should obtain their own tax advice.
5.8 Refunds, Disputes, and Campaign Changes
If you believe a contribution was unauthorized or materially misrepresented, contact the organizing club and support@courtlab.app promptly. Refunds are handled by the connected club and Stripe, with CourtLab support where appropriate, subject to applicable law and payment-network rules. A campaign target, event, or schedule may change, and reaching a target is not guaranteed. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Australian Consumer Law.
5.9 Fundraising Standings and Player Safety
Public fundraising standings use anonymous roster labels rather than player names. A share link may attribute verified contribution totals to a roster slot or to the team total. Organizers must not use fundraising standings to shame, pressure, penalize, select, or disadvantage a junior athlete or family. Fundraising results do not alter training, vision, selection, or competition performance data.
6. User Content and Data
6.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service, including performance data, profile information, coach notes, uploaded film, captured video, highlights, tags, playlists, reports, and other media. By submitting content, you grant CourtLab a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, analyze, transcode, display, share, and otherwise use your content solely to provide, secure, support, and improve the Service.
6.2 Film Rights and Permissions
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights, licenses, and consents needed to upload, capture, analyze, or share film, including consent from players, parents/guardians, teams, leagues, schools, venues, coaches, officials, broadcasters, or other rights holders where required.
6.3 Sharing and Visibility
Shared links, public profiles, leaderboards, recruiting packets, scout reports, playlists, and highlights may be visible to other people depending on your settings, permissions, organization membership, and link controls. You are responsible for choosing appropriate sharing settings.
6.4 Leaderboard Data
Performance data submitted to public leaderboards may be visible to other users. You can control visibility settings in your account preferences. Verified combine results are attributed to players for ranking purposes.
6.5 Data Export
You may request an export of your personal data at any time through the app settings or by contacting support. We will provide your data in a commonly used, machine-readable format.
7. Coach, Club, Scout, and Recruiter Use
Coaches, trainers, clubs, scouts, recruiters, and administrators may access player data only for legitimate basketball development, team operations, evaluation, recruiting, scouting, or club-management purposes authorized by the relevant player, parent/guardian, team, club, or organization.
You may not use CourtLab to pressure minors, bypass parent or club permissions, scrape player data, sell contact lists, republish private reports, or make eligibility, scholarship, selection, medical, or safety decisions without appropriate human review and consent.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CourtLab shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CourtLab and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.
12. Termination
